Great Circle Mapper Turns 20 Years Old
20 years ago, the Great Circle Mapper was announced to the world. That first day, 444 maps were drawn. The site has since generated nearly 444 million maps and on a busy day serves up 444 maps every few minutes.
Today's Featured Map, somewhat resembling a Jackson Pollock painting, is a composite of that first day's 444 maps.
