Southwest Adds Nonstop to Istanbul

Southwest Airlines has announced non-stop service between Dallas and Istanbul. Southwest founder and memorial chairman Herb Kelleher said "Southwest has been serving Wild Turkey for years but I thought we should also serve Turkey. The recent issues with Boeing's 737 MAX created a unique opportuity: since we cannot fly passengers in them we can rip out the seats and fit extra fuel tanks to get sufficient range."

Due to the relatively short runway at Love Field, a technical stop will be required at DFW; return flights will be non-stop.

Today's Featured Map shows Southwest's new route.

P.S.: Check the date.
