Pan American World Airways ceased operations 25 years ago today after over 64 years of flying.
Today's Featured Map shows Pan Am's final route map, depleted after route sales to United and Delta, focused on a Miami hub with a handful of routes from the once-major hub in New York. A single trans-Atlantic flight (to Paris) remained; trans-Pacific flying had been gone for nearly six years.
