Featured Map for 19 July 2011:
Delta Drops

Last Friday, Delta Air Lines announced plans to reduce or eliminate service to 24 small markets with an average load factor of 52 percent and some as low as 12 percent. Delta plans to eliminate its fleet of 34-seat Saab 340B aircraft flown by Mesaba Airlines under the Delta Connection banner and larger aircraft would be uneconomical in thin markets. Some may continue with federal subsidies under the Essential Air Service (EAS) program.

Today's Featured Map shows the 24 cities where Delta plans to reduce or eliminate service. Cities marked in green are currenly subsidized under EAS.
