The Over and Under featured maps inspired a number of people. Helsinki to Kona not only goes right over the north pole but it's also a route that a fair number of people might fly, though probably not enough to justify a nearly 7000-mile non-stop:
Going to the other side of the Big Island (Hilo) comes even closer to the north pole, but wouldn't get much traffic:
JFK-BOM doesn't cross either pole but the great circle path does go directly over Helsinki:
