Exploring geographic oddities seems to be a favorite pastime of many Great Circle Mapper users. Paths that traverse the poles are one example. For example, if you head almost due north from Dallas-Fort Worth, the ninth most populous metropolitan area in the United States, and keep on going past the north pole, you'll reach Novosibirsk, Russia's third largest city:
The southern equivalent is more challenging since there is so much water but a path almost due south from Perth, across the south pole, takes you to Córdoba:
