Featured Maps: Disaster relief to Haiti via seaplane (19 January 2010)

Many organizations are working to provide disaster relief to Haiti after the recent 7.0 earthquake but the seaport at Port-au-Prince was severely damaged and Toussaint Louverture International Airport is clogged with aircraft.

Ray Wolfe of SeaPlane Operations, LLC saw this as a perfect mission for the unique capabilities of the Grumman Albatross. Ray used the Great Circle Mapper to study various refueling options:

Airlines and general aviation pilots use the Great Circle Mapper every day to study flight possibilities (depending on official charts for actual flight planning) but supporting this humanitarian mission is a very special opportunity.
